Getting the best results with EUO shouldn't be complicated. That's why we've prepared this short guide to help you understand how to prepare your system for optimization and how to get the most out of your Windows setup.
Start with a clean Windows installation
For the best experience, we recommend starting with a fresh Windows installation. If you're using a newer PC, Windows 11 is generally the recommended choice, although Windows 10 can still work well.
Starting fresh helps remove previous optimizations, system modifications, and leftover changes made by other utilities. This can also help you avoid unexpected issues caused by mixing optimizations from multiple tools.
Apply and test optimizations step by step
Once your system is ready, you can open EUO and start applying optimizations. However, instead of enabling everything at once, we recommend testing each optimization tab separately.
This makes it much easier to understand how each group of optimizations affects your system and helps you quickly identify the cause if you encounter any problems.
How should you test each tab?
Let's use the Core tab inside the Optimizations section as an example.
Open the Core tab and click the Apply Recommended button. Once the optimizations have been applied, restart your PC before testing your system.
After restarting, launch a game you regularly play and check how your system performs. Pay attention to FPS, responsiveness, stability, and whether you notice any unusual behavior.
If everything works correctly, you can move on to the next optimization tab and repeat the same process.
What if you encounter an issue?
Testing optimizations one tab at a time makes troubleshooting much easier. If you notice performance problems, instability, or unexpected system behavior after applying a specific tab, you'll have a much better idea of which group of optimizations may have caused it.
You can then revert those changes instead of having to undo every optimization applied to your system.
Take your time
The goal isn't to apply as many optimizations as possible. The goal is to find the configuration that works best for your specific PC.
Hardware, drivers, Windows versions, games, and personal preferences can all affect the final result. Applying optimizations gradually and testing your system after each step gives you much more control over the process.
